6061-T6 aluminium CNC machined. Supplied with 1x stainless steel screw. Compatible with all bikes that use the Specialized 323 Derailleur Hanger.
THE REDESIGNED HANGER HAS A BUNCH OF IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDING:
▸ Reduced diameter of the axle through-hole resulting in increased surface area where the axle clamps the inside surface, improving the axle to frame stiffness.
▸ Hard mounted derailleur (removing the sandwich design) improving hanger strength, alignment and thread durability.
▸ Sharktooth design which stops the chain from running past the small sprocket and onto the frame during the shift.
▸ Built in clearance to allow self alignment of the two piece hanger.
Why is our SHARKTOOTH Derailleur Hanger better than the Specialized 323?
I created this replacement derailleur hanger for Specialized 323 because I had continuous trouble with the chain dropping off the small gear. This was scary and dangerous, forcing me to abandon the run.
I quickly realised that this issue is prominent. Every single bike I’ve seen with the stock 323 Specialized Sandwich derailleur hanger has scratches on it, proving it has dropped off the small sprocket
I also found that over time the derailleur bolt would come loose and I would constantly have to tighten it.
On closer inspection, what was happening involved the sandwich design at the derailleur bolt. The bolt goes through an oversized hole, causing it to deform/burr inward, which resulted in the derailleur binding against the hanger, not allowing it to swing backwards as its intended operation.
Also, the Sandwich design does not allow for the slight misalignment of the machined surfaces on the dropout. This caused the M3 bolt to pull its thread out when tightening the wheel Axle.
So, I set out to design a new replacement Specialized 323 derailleur hanger – without all of the issues. After a few prototypes I perfected the final version and it is now ready for you to install and enjoy the ride!
